It was organized and will be operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. On December 1, 2004 the IRS determined that The Captain Andrew R. Houghton Foundation is exempt from Federal Income Tax under Section 501(c)(3). See the IRS determination letter here. Copies of the Foundation's most recent tax return (Form 990) are available upon request. Contributions to the organization are tax deductible under Section 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code.
